I recently had a group of approximately 30 people for a dinner event at MesaMar. From start to finish, MesaMar was amazing! The booking process was seamless, and the banquet coordinator was incredibly helpful. The service at the event (held in the Library Room) was absolutely fantastic, and the food was wonderful! What a great place and a great time! Highly recommend and I wouldn't change a thing. Love this place!!

The combination of fresh ingredients—alongside the perfect blend of seasonings—gave each bite a burst of flavor, making it the ideal start to our meal. Moving on to the main courses, we tried the Enchilado de Camarones and the Camarones al Ajillo. The Enchilado de Camarones was a rich and flavorful dish, featuring shrimp cooked in a robust tomato-based sauce, with just the right hint of spice to elevate the experience. The shrimp were succulent, and the sauce was perfect for dipping with the accompanying rice. The Camarones al Ajillo—garlic shrimp—was equally satisfying. We had a lovely dinner here with colleagues after an event. All the appetizers were delicious. For my entree, I had the fresh hogfish snapper, half grilled and half fried. My husband had the Chilean sea bass, which melted in your mouth. For dessert, we shared the almond praline, flan, and chocolate mousse. The atmosphere was perfect, and our server was excellent.
If you love hog fish, this is the place to come to. The tostones were the bomb! The portions are very generous. MesaMar is a gem. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

The hogfish served two ways was very fresh! Half was fried while the other half was grilled. It was delicious but personally I think the grilled side may taste better if it was streamed. Octopus portion was tiny. It was mainly potatos and garnish. A bit disappointing in terms of price for value. Grilled calamari on the other hand was done perfectly. Soft, tender, sweet, and good portion size. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice on a Friday night with live music. Sadly, the service was disappointing. We had to pour our own wine after initial pour and our glasses of water was often empty. That should never happen in such an establishment of this caliber. Coffee arrived after dessert was finished. Overall, it was good with some room for improvement.
